It’s Thursday morning. What’s the scene at your workplace?
Today I’ve got seven appointments: a full set for a new client, a surprise touch-up that I managed to squeeze in, a male lash extension client (men love lashes too!), and a lash lift/brow lamination/tint for a UK celeb in town recording. Meanwhile, I’m trying to mentally prepare for my friend’s 50th birthday party tonight — Studio 54-themed, of course. I’ll be rocking a gold suit, fluffy lashes, sparkly eye shadow, and big ’80s hair. I was, like, four back then, but hey, I’m ready to dance!
What’s on the agenda for today?
It’s a full day of glam and gratitude. I’ve got back-to-back clients, some admin in between, and a bit of prep for Monday — my admin and celeb house call day. My days are no joke, but I’m all about the hustle. Coming back from my recent breast cancer journey, rebuilding my life, my spa from scratch during construction delays, COVID, city inspections, Hollywood strikes — you name it — I’ve been through it. But this Thursday? I’m booked. I’m glowing. And I’m so thankful.
Any restaurant plans today, tonight, this weekend?
Oh yes. When I’m not working or hosting my own glam sessions, I’m feeding my vegan soul. My current obsessions:
Crossroads Kitchen: always a classic for vegan fine dining.
Hey Sunshine in Culver City: if you haven’t had the mac and cheese or the Fiesta Bowl, you’re seriously missing out.
Chaumount Vegan: their vegan croissants? Pure joy in pastry form.
And if all else fails, I’m probably sipping something cute and eating my favorite dragon roll plant-based at Planta. You gotta try it!
How about a little leisure or culture?
Self-care is a priority. I love a recovery day at Pause Studio — float therapy or an AI massage is my kind of recharge. If I want human hands, I go to Milk + Honey Spa for a full day of chill.
Any weekend getaways?
Palm Springs is my escape. I love staying at the Kimpton, but I’ve got my eyes on the new Thompson Hotel. Sometimes I stay with my ultra-fab friends — celebrity hairstylists Ted Gibson and Jason Backe — who host like no one else. It’s always fabulous energy, beautiful decor, and all the glam inspo you could want.
What was your last great vacation?
My last dreamy vacay was to Cabo with my husband. We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Pedregal — it’s our go-to since my best friend got married there years ago. It’s just so peaceful. But next time, I want to switch it up. Maybe the new Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas — or something we don’t even know yet. As long as there’s room service and I can sleep in, I’m happy.
What’s a recent big-ticket purchase you love?
I bought out my Range Rover lease. The way car prices are going, it felt smarter to hold onto something I love. Plus, it fits my boss vibe perfectly and keeps my overhead low. I’m about luxury, but I’m also about smart luxury on a budget.
What store or service do you always recommend?
I swear by Pause Studio for wellness, and Milk + Honey for all-day relaxation. But if you want a mix of glam, peace, and personalized service, you already know the answer — come to D’Lashes. Sip on a frozen rosé, get pampered, and let us craft a lash look that brings out your inner icon.
